Inheritance Law
Cocuzza & Associati offers advice and assistance to private clients, on the problems related to national and international inheritance law under internal and EU legislation, in particular Regulation (EU) No. 650/2012 on inheritance and the creation of a European Certificate of Succession. This Regulation, which applies to persons who died on or after August 17, 2015, introduced significant changes to the existing regime in the context of cross-border inheritance, which are likely to have very different effects on assets than what was expected.
We assist clients, including foreign clients, in all stages of asset planning: from drafting to the execution of the will, the choice of the legal system best suited to its objectives and the identification of alternative instruments to the will, as well as in intergenerational transfers in companies, always with a view to preventing any future litigation between heirs.
The firm also provides assistance to clients in jurisdictions and before bodies for the mediation or alternative resolution of disputes concerning inheritance, including those aspects that involve real estate.
